Majestic Transportation Services & Limo Inc.
Our New York cruise terminal transportation takes you from your front door in the Hudson Valley, Westchester or Fairfield County to the ship, and brings you home when it docks. We drive to all three cruise terminals in the New York area: the Manhattan Cruise Terminal on the West Side, the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal in Red Hook and Cape Liberty Cruise Port in Bayonne, New Jersey.
A cruise departure differs from an airport run in one important way: the bags. A week or two of clothes, formal nights and beach gear adds up quickly, so we size the vehicle to the luggage as well as to the passengers.
Your cruise documents name the terminal. Check it carefully, because the route, the traffic and the approach are different for each one.
The Manhattan Cruise Terminal uses the piers along 12th Avenue on the West Side of Midtown, by the Hudson River. Coming from the north, the route usually follows the Henry Hudson Parkway and the West Side Highway down the river, so the last stretch runs through Midtown traffic close to the piers.
The Brooklyn Cruise Terminal is at Pier 12 in Red Hook. From the Hudson Valley and Westchester, the route has to pass through or around Manhattan, so Red Hook sailings call for the widest margin for bridge and tunnel traffic.
Cape Liberty Cruise Port is on the New Jersey side of the harbor in Bayonne. For travelers in Orange and Rockland counties, transportation to the Bayonne cruise terminal runs through New Jersey and never enters Manhattan, and the port pairs well with flights through Newark.
Cruise NYC, the official site for the Manhattan and Brooklyn terminals, posts a schedule for each one, which is a quick way to confirm where your ship sails from. We collect cruise passengers anywhere in the counties we serve, and in the five boroughs through our New York City car service.
Cruise lines assign a check-in or boarding window. Plan to arrive inside that window rather than close to the all-aboard time, since the line at the terminal is out of anyone’s control once you get there. We set the pickup time with you from three things: the terminal, your boarding window, and the day and hour of travel, since weekend mornings and holiday weekends bring heavier traffic on the bridges and in the tunnels.
Check your sailing and return dates against the holiday calendar before you book: travel on Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day or Thanksgiving Day carries our holiday surcharge, and so does travel on Easter Sunday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day.
Flying in to meet the ship? We can collect you at Newark Liberty International Airport or at JFK and take you to the terminal, or to a hotel near the port for the night before. Flights are tracked, and the default meeting point is the arrivals curb.
Debarkation usually runs in groups through the morning, and your exact time depends on the group the cruise line assigns. When you know your group or your expected time off the ship, call or email our office so we can set the return around it; within 24 hours of the scheduled time, changes go by phone.
Once you are off the ship, go to the meeting point agreed at booking. If you do not see your chauffeur at the scheduled time, call our main line, listed below, right away so dispatch can connect you.
Cruise luggage decides the vehicle more than the head count does. A couple, or three travelers, fit in the Lincoln Aviator with their cases; a family of up to six fits in the Chevrolet Suburban; and a reunion or friends sailing together, up to 14 people, travels in the Ford Transit or the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, both of which carry luggage for every seat.
A van also makes it simple to collect a party at home and meet the same party again at the pier. In her Google review, Elizabeth D. described our chauffeur “picking us up at our house and then at the cruise terminal” after the sailing.
Sailing with a toddler? Mention it when you reserve and we will fit a child or booster seat, which carries a separate charge. Parties that need more than one vehicle, or relatives coming from different towns, can be planned as group transportation, with the vehicles timed to reach the pier together.
A New York cruise terminal car service is usually reserved well before the 24 or 48 hours of notice we ask for, so the payment rules are the part to know. A sedan or SUV transfer to the port is charged one day before pickup, and you can cancel it without a fee if you call at least 24 hours ahead. A van for a family reunion is held with a 25% deposit, the balance falls due 30 days before sailing, and if the booking is cancelled at least 30 days out you lose only that deposit. Cancellations have to be made by phone.
Yes, and it is the simplest way to do it. Give us the ship, the terminal and the return date. Once you know your debarkation group, let us know so the pickup time matches it.
Not necessarily. The Ford Transit seats 14 with luggage for 14, so ten cruisers and their bags usually fit in one vehicle. If some of the party starts from a different town, two smaller vehicles can make more sense than one long collection route.
Yes. Book it as a port-to-airport transfer, with your debarkation group and your flight details, and we will take you from the terminal to Newark, JFK or LaGuardia. Leave a generous gap between the ship and the flight, since the time you get off depends on the cruise line.
It depends on traffic more than distance, but Cape Liberty in Bayonne avoids Manhattan entirely, which takes the city’s tunnels and avenues out of the equation. The Manhattan and Brooklyn terminals require crossing into or through the city.
Book the transfer to the ship and the return through our online reservations, adding the terminal, the ship name and the number of bags in the notes. If your sailing party is spread across several towns or needs more than one van, our office can build the pickup plan with you at (877) 811-8400 or through majestic@mtslimousine.com.
