You can spend an entire day at New York Comic Con and still miss something you would have loved to see. A favorite actor may appear only once, two panels can overlap, and Artist Alley can take far longer than expected.
New York Comic Con fills the Javits Center with comics, film, television, anime, gaming, cosplay, creators, and fans. With so much happening across four days, knowing a few practical details before you go can save you from missing something important.
New York Comic Con dates for 2026 are Thursday, October 8 through Sunday, October 11.
The lineup changes from day to day. If there is one actor, creator, screening, or franchise you especially want to see, check which day it appears before choosing your ticket.
New York Comic Con takes place at the Javits Center, 429 11th Avenue on Manhattan’s West Side.
The convention center sits beside Hudson Yards, west of Times Square and much of Midtown. Inside, exhibits, panels, and other activities take place across different areas of the building, so checking where you need to go next can save you unnecessary walking.

The New York Comic Con schedule covers film and television, comics, anime and manga, gaming, books, screenings, creator conversations, and other fan programming.
Thursday’s announced lineup includes Dexter: Resurrection, Marvel Television and Marvel Animation, and Final Fantasy VII Revelation. Friday brings Avatar: Seven Havens and ONE PIECE, while Saturday includes Star Trek and a conversation with Walker Scobell about Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Sunday’s program includes The Rookie, R.L. Stine, and Tokyo Revengers.
These are selected highlights. NYCC said it will announce more panels before the convention.
The announced New York Comic Con guests come from film, television, comics, literature, animation, and gaming.
Hayden Christensen, Ian McDiarmid, Lena Headey, Matt Smith, and Jamie Campbell Bower are among the celebrity names confirmed so far. Comic fans can also see creators including Frank Miller, Jim Lee, James Tynion IV, Stephanie Phillips, Nick Dragotta, and Scott Snyder.
Not every guest appears on every date. If meeting a particular person is one of your main reasons for going, confirm their appearance before choosing your ticket. Photo ops and autographs can also have their own booking requirements.
The Show Floor opens at 10 a.m. each day. It closes at 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and at 5 p.m. Sunday. Artist Alley remains open until 8 p.m. on the first three days.
Panel hours are different. They run from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
That does not mean everyone needs to arrive when the doors open. If the first thing you want to see happens in the afternoon, spending the entire morning inside may simply mean more hours on your feet. An early session, however, leaves less room for entry delays or for finding the right room.
If you are traveling by car, allow extra time for the Manhattan portion of the trip. Street congestion near Midtown and the West Side can add time before you even reach the entrance. Give yourself more room when you have something scheduled at a set time.
Instead of asking how early everyone else is getting there, start with the first thing you do not want to miss.
A few details are much easier to deal with before you reach the Javits Center:
Two things you want to see may happen at the same time. That is normal at NYCC, and trying to fit everything in usually creates more rushing than enjoyment.
Pick one or two appearances you would be genuinely disappointed to miss. Treat anything you’ve booked for a specific time as a fixed commitment. Use the hours between them for exhibitors, shopping, food, or whatever catches your attention once you are there.
Families may prefer fewer fixed activities and more time between them, particularly during a full day at the convention.
Leave something unassigned. An artist you had never heard of, an elaborate costume, or an exhibitor you nearly walked past may end up being what you talk about afterward.
The Javits Center sits on Manhattan’s West Side, so where you start the morning matters. If you’re staying near Hudson Yards, it’s a short trip. Coming from Westchester or the Hudson Valley requires more time, especially when your first session starts early.
The trip back deserves attention too. If several friends or family members attend together, everyone may want to leave after the same final panel rather than search for separate rides outside the Javits Center.
For those traveling into New York City, private transportation lets everyone travel to the convention and return in the same vehicle. Set the return pickup around the last appearance you want to see rather than cutting the evening short to work out how everyone will get back.
No two people need to experience New York Comic Con the same way. You may go for a favorite series or creator and end up spending much of the day on things you never expected to find.
The schedule gives you a starting point. What you discover between those plans often becomes the part you remember.
