We provide Hudson Valley airport transportation to all six airports valley travelers use: the three big New York area airports, Stewart and Westchester County closer to home, and Teterboro for private flights. A chauffeur collects you at your door before the flight, we track the flight on the way back, and a vehicle is ready for your call when you land. The same booking rules apply wherever you fly, and the whole service is run from our Monroe garage on Route 17M, where we have been based since 2002.
Typical reasons to book: a vacation or business flight without leaving your own car in long-term parking for a week, relatives who land late at night, or a family with too many bags for one sedan.
Five of the six, all except Westchester County, are Port Authority airports.
The flight usually decides the airport, but when you have a choice, the distance matters. On a weekday morning, Newark is about 1 hour 9 minutes from Monroe, ahead of LaGuardia at about 1 hour 23 minutes and JFK at about 1 hour 49 minutes. From Poughkeepsie the order changes: LaGuardia takes about 1 hour 37 minutes, Newark about 1 hour 45 minutes and JFK about 1 hour 57 minutes. As a rule of thumb, towns west of the river tend to favor Newark and towns on the east bank tend to favor LaGuardia. For many towns, Stewart or Westchester County is closer still, when it offers your route.
JFK is the longest run from almost everywhere in the valley, and it is also where many international itineraries begin. When JFK is your airport, we work out the drive from your town to JFK and time your departure from it.
Curbside pickup is our standard arrival service, and it is included in the fare. It works in three steps:
The meeting spot depends on where you land: the curb outside your airline’s terminal at JFK, LaGuardia and Newark, the single terminal at Westchester County and Stewart, and at Teterboro a meeting point we confirm with you when booking, since there is no airline curb.
If you would rather not go to the curb, choose the inside pickup: the chauffeur waits for you indoors holding a sign with your name, for an additional fee. It suits travelers landing somewhere unfamiliar. As Megan R. put it in her Google review, “He picked us up inside because we have never been to this airport.”
The clock for free waiting starts at landing. You have 30 minutes without charge after a domestic flight and 60 minutes after an international one, which allows for passport control and customs. Once that allowance runs out, the extra time is charged at the hourly rate of the vehicle you booked. We cannot answer for holdups caused by the airline or by traffic, but because we watch the flight, the chauffeur plans around when you actually land.
A diversion leaves two choices. The chauffeur can keep waiting where you were booked to land, or you can release the booking, pay its full fare and book a fresh one wherever the plane came down. If the aircraft is expected to continue to its original destination, waiting usually costs less.
On the departure side of our Hudson Valley airport car service, we set the time at your door from three inputs: when your flight leaves, how early your airline wants you there, and how long the journey from your address takes. On the day, wait outside at the scheduled time rather than inside the house. If no vehicle is in sight, phone dispatch at once; a quick call keeps the booking from being recorded as a no-show and the fee that comes with it.
Dawn departures and midnight arrivals fit our schedule: the service runs around the clock every day of the week, and from 6 p.m. to 9 a.m. an overnight dispatch team answers the phone.
On airport runs, the luggage decides the vehicle as much as the head count. One to three travelers with suitcases fit in a Lincoln Aviator, up to six people and their bags in a Chevrolet Suburban, and a group of up to 14 in the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter or the Ford Transit. Ask for child or booster seats and mention any pet when you book; each comes with an additional fee.
If the airport run is part of a longer day, such as a hotel stop and then a meeting or a campus visit, book it as hourly car service, where stops are part of the reserved hours.
Yes. Each flight gets its own reservation matched to its airport and time, even when the travelers belong to the same family or event. Book them together so we can plan the vehicles as a set.
Yes. For example, you could leave from JFK on a long-haul flight and come home through Stewart or Westchester County. The return leg simply follows the routine for wherever you land.
Check Stewart first, since it is the closer option. If you have to use one of the big three, Newark is the shortest of them from Kingston in weekday morning traffic, at about 1 hour 44 minutes, against about 2 hours to LaGuardia and about 2 hours 23 minutes to JFK.
Hudson Valley airport transportation is booked the same way from every town: reserve through our online booking system with the airport, flight number, home address and the number of travelers and bags. If you are still choosing between airports, call (877) 811-8400 and we will compare the drive from your town with you.
