Flying out of New Windsor instead of Queens can save a Hudson Valley household hours on the road, and for us, Stewart airport transportation is as local as airport work gets: New York Stewart International Airport in Orange County is the closest commercial airport to our Monroe garage. We take Valley residents to SWF for their flights, collect them when they return, and meet visitors who fly into Stewart to be closer to West Point, a wedding venue, or a weekend upstate.
Stewart is operated by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, and it is far smaller than the city airports. That changes the plan: shorter distances, a quick walk from the gate to the curb, and less margin needed for traffic at the airport itself. Stewart’s official website lists the airlines currently flying there and live departures and arrivals, a good first check when you are comparing it with the bigger airports.
The airport is just off I-84, near its junction with the New York State Thruway, which makes it easy to reach from three directions:
These are the estimated rates published for some of the runs we make from Stewart:
*Estimated sedan fares, one way, leaving SWF for each destination listed; holiday surcharges apply.
Stewart’s single terminal keeps arrivals simple. With our car service from Stewart Airport, we track your landing time once you add the flight number to your booking, and as soon as the wheels are down, you’ll get a text with your chauffeur’s name and number. The walk from the gate to the curb is short, so call as soon as your bag comes off, and your vehicle will be outside the terminal in about 5 to 10 minutes.
Stewart may be small, but the free waiting allowance is the same as at the big airports: 30 minutes after a domestic arrival and 60 after an international one, after which the vehicle’s hourly rate applies. A chauffeur can also meet you inside with a name sign, for an additional fee. When Stewart does not have the flight you need, the same arrival routine, including the fallback if no text reaches you, applies to our airport transfers across the region.
Stewart is a practical arrival airport for visitors to the middle of the Hudson Valley, and a chauffeur saves them from learning the local roads after a flight.
If you were looking for a Stewart Airport car service for wedding guests, group capacity is usually the real need. Say twelve guests land on a Friday afternoon: instead of three rental cars, they can share a 14-passenger Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and reach the hotel at the same time. For a whole wedding weekend, our wedding transportation can plan the guest shuttles around the event.
Smaller parties fit in the Lincoln Aviator (up to three passengers with luggage) or the Chevrolet Suburban (up to six with luggage). Child and booster seats can be added to the booking for an additional fee.
Because Stewart is close and compact, departure planning is simpler than for JFK, LaGuardia, or Newark. We still build in time to leave your house based on when your airline wants you at the airport and how far you live from New Windsor, with a little cushion for weekday traffic on I-84 or the Thruway. Step outside at the scheduled time; if no vehicle has arrived, call dispatch immediately so the booking isn’t marked as a no-show.
A sedan or SUV booked to Stewart is charged a day in advance and can be canceled free of charge if you call at least 24 hours in advance. On the day itself, changes must be made by calling the office.
It can, if the landings are close together. We can hold a Sprinter for the later flight, with the free waiting window counted from each landing and any time beyond it billed at the hourly rate, or split the group into two runs if the gap is long. Send us every flight number when you book, and we will suggest the cheaper plan.
Yes. Give us the flight and the address at the academy or the hotel. Visitors pass a security check to enter the academy, and big events bring extra traffic, so tell us the event when you book, and we will plan the drop-off time around it.
Yes. From Kingston or New Paltz, we usually take the Thruway south to I-84; from Poughkeepsie or Rhinebeck, we take Route 9 to I-84 and cross the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge. Give us the address and flight, and we will set the departure time.
Reserve the Stewart transfer through our booking system, giving the flight and the address in the valley. For a group arrival, a visitor you are booking for, or a rate to a town not listed above, our team is at (877) 811-8400 and majestic@mtslimousine.com.
